More About MyTopMusic
I thought about offering you a trial experience, but this had resulted in callbacks to the licensing server each time you started the app. This would habe broken my offline philosophy.
Why offline?
No location services, no data connection (except for installation and updates) not even network connections are required for this app to work. Means it even WORKS IN FLIGHT MODE.
The app addresses those of you who historically run a well-managed collection of mp3's and don't rely on any kind of online services to listen YOUR music. If you want to user your phone like you did your mp3 players in the past this is the app of choice.
The numbers in braces represent the playcount of the items.
Additional information:
In artist view the app uses for illustration the first cover art it finds in the collections songs.
The settings page that you can find by touching the three little dots on the lower right corner allows you to switch between top 10 or 20 items. This together with the size of your music library influences loading time. The default is 10 and when you prefer 20, loading time doubles. I did the testing with 1000 songs and loading top 20 with a Lumia 920 takes about 5 seconds. This information is provided for you on the statistics page.
Once you choose a smart payer option the songs are being added to now playing of the media player (queue). Means this playlist still lives and can be navigated by standard media payer controls even after MyTopMusic is being closed. If you shouldn't like this you can deactivate it again on the settings page. The same goes with the tile animation on the artists view.
