GPS Track Recorder is a simple app that enables the user to record GPS coordinates and afterwards to either
- send the recorded coordinates via email as gpx-file for later use e.g. in Google Earth
- directly display the recorded coordinates in the maps app on the phone

It comes with minium needed capabilities

Preconditions for usage:
- Precondition for email sending: an email account has been setup
- Precondition for show on maps: maps of area have been downloaded
- Precondition for recording: app is in foreground
-- use awake button to prevent the screensaver from starting
-- do not switch to another app or screen
-- the app however resumes recording when it is brought to the foreground again

Settings are available and include
- default target email address

What this app can NOT do:
- This app is no navigation app i.e. it simply records the gps coordinates and provides them via email or directly displays them in the maps on the phone
- The app is not being able to record GPS coordinates in background mode, this is quite annoying, I know, sorry.
I recommend to
A) set the screensaver to the highest possible value (should be 5 min) and to touch "Keep awake" every 4 minutes if recording should be without gaps
B) in case pressing "Keep awake" is too tedious, from time to time start the app again at turn points to make sure the app records the important waypoints of the track

Does this application collect or use your personal information?

GPS Track Recorder main task is to collect GPS location information.
Otherwise this application does not collect or use any personal information.

The GPS location information is used in the following way:
- stores it in a temporary file on your phone
- when requested by you the app sends the data as an attachment in an email to the email address specified by you
- when requested by you the app displays the location information in the maps on your phone

Summary:
The GPS location information is not shared with anybody else but you, if you do not send the data via an email or enable somebody else to access the filesystem of your phone.
