Create the BlueAssist messages you need!



BlueAssist messages support people for whom it is difficult to understand a situation and to ask an understandable question for aid from a co-citizen. With the app a person who takes care of the user, can create customized messages on BlueAssist cards.

The BlueAssist icon gives confidence to connect with strangers and to show the message to a passer-by, a bus driver, a retailer, … The BlueAssist-receiver can read the message, understand what the user wants and can help the BlueAssist-user.

The BlueAssist project aims to increase selfhelp and inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities, beginning dementia, brain disorders, autism spectrum disorders, ...

BlueAssist is a social innovation founded in the coaching of persons with intellectual disabilities in their striving for more personal freedom and quality of life. It has been successfully implemented in Flanders (Belgium) and the users were very satisfied. Thanks to more interdependence, they feel proud and glad to participate more in society. The BlueAssist icon offers users the feeling of security they need, to undertake more.



This free BlueAssist application can easily be managed by a caregiver. Messages can be customized in the desired language and supported by an icon the enduser has chosen for easy recognition of various messages. Use of the cards can be very rapidly taught to their endusers, even those who do not have any previous experience with smartphones.

We advise to try out the application several times, together with your enduser because at the beginning they often do not know how to show the message to passers-by. These “BlueAssist receivers” immediately understand the purpose thanks to the simplicity of the concept.
