Thanks for being a GoodSAM Alerter! As an alerter you are key to getting help from surrounding trained personnel. But there’s so much more you can do! With the defibrilocator you can upload fixed public access defibrillators – helping even before a life-threatening emergency occurs.

There are loads of new features on GoodSAM! These include:
• Single sign on (with Google plus, Facebook and LinkedIn)
• Nearest Defibrillator display
• Alter your profile (if it’s you that’s ill, this tells the responder important medical information about you)
• The App works worldwide – so if on holiday and you don’t know the emergency number – just open the app and hit call for help. It knows where you are and the number to dial!

The responder network is growing rapidly and comprises volunteer doctors, nurses, paramedics and first aiders (when active they are not working as part of the statutory emergency response services). Pressing the alert button alerts the nearest 3 people and simultaneously dials for the emergency services. It is for use in life threatening emergencies. Think of it as shouting for help – really loudly, through walls or in the parallel street…

Immediate high quality CPR and early defibrillation makes a massive difference in cardiac arrest. Please consider training yourself – either through your local community first responder service or one of the courses, for example, run by St John Ambulance / the Red Cross.
