This universal app for Windows and Windows Phone/Mobile provides all you need for planning your journey around London, making it ideal for locals and tourists alike.

Since you are often without an Internet connection when using the tube, this app does not need to be online when planning a journey directly between two stations on the network!

However, if you have Internet access, you can make use of extensive searching for your locations: lookup addresses, or POIs such as Shops, Museums or Restaurants; or simply see what is nearby your location. You can also make use of the built-in Wikipedia integration to get quick info on your destinations.

You can tune your route planner to use certain modes of transport, or to minimize changes. If you need to walk during your journey, the journey instructions will show the exact walking route on a map.

Get the current status on all tube lines with detailed information direct from TfL (this requires an Internet connection). And of course, the app comes with a full map of the network for you to browse, and even select your stations from directly.

The app is free but includes a cheap 'In-app Purchase' for use of the Route Planner, after you have tried it a few times to see if you like it. Please note that the route planner does not include Busses.
